Android 2.1 now available!
Google has just released the Android 2.1 SDK, a “minor platform release” over Android 2.0. It has a few new elements such as voice recognition, live wallpapers, new launcher, more home screens, and some WebKit changes. The new SDK is now available on the android developers website.

Nexus One beats iPhone in Mobile Search volume during launch week
During the launch of Nexus One last week (5th Jan), volume of searches for “nexus one” outnumbered the volume of search for “iPhone”. There has also been significant spikes in searches for “google phone”. However, the hype seems to be dying down, with the search for Nexus One lower than search for Blackberry on 10th Jan.

Lenovo LePhone
Lenovo is going to launch a smart phone, its first for now, named Lenovo LePhone. The phone will be running on the Android OS. The launch of the phone was announced during the CES 2010, pictures of the lovely phones are out, with an interesting concept of detachable keyboard.

Google Nexus One attracts customers complaints
There has been complaints from Nexus One users about the phone having trouble connecting to T-Mobile’s 3G network. Many are also complaining about the time Google take to respond to the queries as all queries are only answered via emails, which may take up to one or two days.

Fuse and Scrybe, new user interface for mobile phones
Synaptics, an interface development firm, is introducing Fuse, a new way of controlling a cell phone through the combination of touchscreens, force feedback, tilting and 3D graphics. Scrybe is a new set of gestures to make things happen on your computer quickly and easily. This “multi-modal” interface” can be used on touch screens, touch pads and other sensor.
